Association :
• Certification Qualifications : Each participant must complete all courses before taking the ASA101 & ASA103 certification exam. The passer can be certified by the American Sailing Association
• Pass the certification : Those who pass the certification test will be issued a visa on the logbook by the coach of Aegean Sailing Club, and the ASA101 + ASA103 certificate will be sent.
ASA 101 Basic Keelboat Sailing Standard Course
• Able to skipper a sloop-rigged keelboat of approximately 20 to 35 feet in length by day in light to moderate winds (8 to 15 knots) and sea conditions.
• Knowledge of basic sailing terminology, parts and functions, helm commands, basic sail trim, points of sail, buoyage, seamanship and safety including basic navigation rules to avoid collisions and hazards.
ASA 103 Basic Coastal Cruising Standard Course
• Description: Demonstrated ability to skipper a sloop-rigged auxiliary powered (outboard or inboard engine) keelboat of approximately 25 to 35 feet length by day in moderate winds (0 to 20 knots) and sea conditions. • Knowledge of cruising sailboat terminology, basic boat systems, auxiliary engine operation, docking procedures, intermediate sail trim, navigation rules, basic coastal navigation, anchoring, weather forecast interpretation, safety and seamanship.
